Deal or No Deal although initially appearing very simple in format of just opening a few boxes for the chance to win some big money prizes, actually has some potentially complex decisions to be made at points throughout the show, the contestants occasionally try complex or simple gameplay in an attempt to give them an edge in beating the Banker.

Stephen's Deal or No Deal Game Report 03/09/10

Noel thinks that whoever plays today will have a bitter/sweet time, as they will remember the amount they won, but also the number of shows they played, as at the reunions they have that number always crops up.

Stephen has box 17 today. Stephen is a social care worker, and a big family man. He has his wife in the audience for support today, and says that family is everything to him, we get to see a picture of his 2 children. He has a small wooden box from Cuba where he got married, and if contains a cork from their champagne from their wedding, and he also has a small good luck bear from his children.

Round 1

That is 2 days in a row for Paul now says Noel.

Noel says he doesn't want to influence anything, but he is really worried about the newbie who looks really nervous

Banker time
That is a great opening round says Noel. The Banker says he is not happy about that at all, and it is one of the best opening rounds for a contestant that he can recall.

Banker's offer:
£12,500

That is a really good offer says Stephen.

Stephen says

Newbie Lisa next, and Noel asks a little about her as she is the most nervous newbie they have had for months

Banker time
Noel continues to wind up the newbie Lisa by making sure she puts her box and seal away properly The Banker says that Lisa's haircut will be great when it is finished!

Banker's offer:
£15,000

That is a fantasic offer says Stephen.

Stephen says

Round 3
Noel asks Stephen the story about his father, as Stephen was brought up by his grandfather. He explains it was difficult, and when his grandfather died he took his ashes back to the Caribbean and had the chance to meet his father and says it was great and felt as though they had always known each other.

The Banker says that Stephen has gone and done it now by personalising the game.

Stephen turns to his wife who says that money would do a lot for them, but it is also a good board and he should go with his feelings.

Banker time
That is a dream 8-box says Noel. The Banker says with that board almost whatever he offers is irrelevant as Stephen will be drawn on.

Noel asks what £21,000 would mean to Stephen and then reveals the real offer.

Banker's offer:
£25,000

Stephen's wife says it is a clever offer, but he also has more chance of going home with a red. The Banker calls back and says that he really believes Stephen will deal here. Stephen says he would like to talk to the Banker, and then the Banker calls back and Stephen answers, but the Banker hangs up on him! The Banker calls back and says he will talk to Stephen if he deals!

Stephen says

Round 5 - Proveout round
Noel says he will be so angry with Stephen if he has turned down the chance to win £250,000. The Banker calls back as promised and speaks to Stephen. He says he knew Stephen was going to deal after Stephen's wife said there was more chance of him going home with a red than a blue, and he saw something in Stephen's eye.

That was not enough, and a mistake has been made says Noel. The Banker congratulates himself on getting Stephen to deal

Stephen says he would have kept his box.

Noel opens Stephen's box 17 and reveals £250,000

You let me down says Noel, as the whole studio goes into a deathly silence.
