Deal or No Deal although initially appearing very simple in format of just opening a few boxes for the chance to win some big money prizes, actually has some potentially complex decisions to be made at points throughout the show, the contestants occasionally try complex or simple gameplay in an attempt to give them an edge in beating the Banker.

Charlie's Deal or No Deal Game Report 17/06/11

Charlie has box 9. Charlie is a retired motor engineer, and explains that he retired twice, as he got fed up with retirement and went back into work for a while! Noel says Charlie is 80, and he says he's actually 81 as today is his birthday! We get to see a photo of Charlie's family, and one of his wife. He says they've been together over 60 years, and she's a bit poorly at the moment. He also shows a photo of him on holiday in Egypt.

Charlie says he wants to save boxes 17 and 21.

Charlie talks about how he wants to take his wife on a cruise for their diamond wedding anniversary soon, and he explains he proposed to his wife when they were doing a waltz.

Noel says it'd be amazing if Charlie has all the Power 5 left at 5-box, as he's not seen that before.

Banker time
The banker says the game was in Charlie's favour, but it's now 50/50. He admires Charlie for taking the last gamble.

Noel says that's an excellent offer for the board. Macka says Charlie won't get an offer like that again if he knocks out a big red now. G says £20k would get Charlie a heck of a cruise.

The banker says this month is really putting the pressure on his nerves!

Beryl-Anne asks what Charlie's wife would think here, and he wonders what would happen if he finished with 1p! G asks if Charlie's a gambler, and he says only to a certain extent.

Charlie says

He keeps the £20,000.

Noel says that would've been such a big gamble.

Charlie has £75,000 in his box 9.

Box 21 with Charlotte contains the 1p

Charlie says he's quite happy with what he got. Noel reveals that Charlie wrote "Diamond wedding £25,000" in the book. Charlie says he didn't go at the £25k offer as the board was so strong.
