Deal or No Deal although initially appearing very simple in format of just opening a few boxes for the chance to win some big money prizes, actually has some potentially complex decisions to be made at points throughout the show, the contestants occasionally try complex or simple gameplay in an attempt to give them an edge in beating the Banker.

Beryl's Deal or No Deal Game Report 01/02/11

Noel says January was the wettest month since records began, in terms of tears from the contestants! Noel says they're on their 7th box of tissues since the New Year started and the banker can't afford any more, so he wants the contestants to keep their emotions in check! Noel says Georgina yesterday was the moistest player

Beryl has box 11. Beryl is from Coventry and is a retired dinner lady and she says she got a 50p pension when she retired! Beryl says the cook in her kitchen was brilliant and she talks about rationing ravioli. We get to see a pic of a 53-year-old soft-toy snowman called Mr Snowman, and a pic of Beryl's family at her diamond wedding anniversary. Her husband is in the audience today, and she shows a photo of him with his onions.

Round 1
Beryl has no system. She says she wants to live to 2012 for the Olympics, and then she's on borrowed time.
19 - Charlotte - £50,000
IJ now, and Noel has a chat with her about the Olympics, and she says she'd participate in the shopping event.

"OH WHAT!" says Noel.

Banker time
The banker says he'd never ration his ravioli for Beryl.

Banker's offer:

Noel talks to Beryl about how she once climbed up a tree when she was 80 and then she fell out! The banker phones up and asks if Noel is hoping to live to 2012 himself, as he's not playing by the rules as he forgot to ask the question!

Beryl says

Round 2
Beryl says she wants money to get a walk-in bathroom, and Noel questions her further and finds she wants a walk-in shower! Noel narrows it down to a wet room, and she says it'll cost £24,000 - £26,000 as it'll be gold-plated. Big Al now, and we find out that he's a dairy farmer from Wales, and Noel asks him about his cows' milk output.

Banker time
Noel and the banker talk about Leanne's hair, and they then talk about the details of the wet-room that Beryl wants!

Banker's offer:

Beryl says that's not enough.

Round 3
Tomas now and he talks about an old cartoon character called Beryl the Peril.

13 - Patricia - £15,000
Noel says it's one of those games where you get stabbed after a good box.
3 - Carol - 10p

Banker time
The banker says he liked a comment Beryl's husband made about how she had broken the game.

Banker's offer:

Noel says the offers aren't going to suddenly rise with that board so it's going to be a hard task. Ade says he thinks Beryl's luck will turn soon.

Banker time
The banker says Beryl might have to scale her wet-room down

Noel says this is unbelievable. Beryl holds her lucky Buddha, and she gets a bit emotional and wonders what she's done to her game.
18 - Dylan - £5,000

Banker time
Beryl says she used to like this game! The banker laughs wildly down the phone, which gets lots of BOOs from the audience. He says Beryl hasn't done anything wrong, and her luck just hasn't been here today. Beryl says this must all be a dream and it's not the dream she wanted!

Banker's offer:

Beryl's husband tells her to see what's in the box. Patricia says £250 won't change Beryl's life, so maybe she should go for it like Dale did.

Beryl says

Round 6
Beryl is keeping box 12 to the end
15 - Ade - £750
20 - Sophie - £3,000
Beryl reckons she has the 1p in her box and she wants to win it now!
21 - Shaun - £250

Banker time with 1p and £5 remaining...

Beryl says she could put the 1p in a chain and wear it as a necklace. The banker says if the viewers chose Beryl's luck, she'd have won the £250k.

Banker's offer:

Beryl says

Beryl wins 1p from her box 11.

Noel says Beryl is the 34th member of the 1p club.

Box 12 with Stu contains the £5

Beryl says she had the 1p 3 times when she was on the wings, and she won't be coming here again.
