Deal or No Deal although initially appearing very simple in format of just opening a few boxes for the chance to win some big money prizes, actually has some potentially complex decisions to be made at points throughout the show, the contestants occasionally try complex or simple gameplay in an attempt to give them an edge in beating the Banker.

Jie's Deal or No Deal Game Report 14/07/11

Jie has box 16. Jie lives in Bristol, but is originally from south China where she was a fashion designer. Jie talks about her life in China, and how she met her husband out there who is English. Her husband isn't here today as he's working, but she has a piece of paper with her with a good-luck message in Chinese that her husband wrote. She also has a soft-toy pig with her which she hopes will bring her good luck. Jie shows a photo of her family, and another pic of her with her husband on their wedding day. She has ambitions to become a recognised fashion designer.

Round 1
Jie says the first time she watched the show, she thought Noel was called "No", and wondered if some people were called "Yes"!

Banker time
The banker says "hello" in Chinese. He says when he first heard Noel would be hosting the show, he shouted "NOOO, Edmonds!".

Jie's friends in the audience say it's a very good offer.

Jie says

Round 2
Noel says Jie has an ambition to take the banker on a tour where he has to visit the big winners from previous shows!
5 - Roman - £1,000
Noel talks to newbie Rosie and she says she's not very interesting! The banker rings and says they choose the most suitable contestants from the auditions, and says Rosie has to be more interesting otherwise she'll be chucked off! So she says she rode an elephant once.
12 - newbie Rosie - 50p
20 - Tony - £250,000

Banker time
The banker says he has no doubt that Jie will have great success as a fashion designer, but not on his money.

Banker's offer:
£2,500

Jie's mother-in-law in the audience says it's a reasonable offer.

Jie says

19 - Jacky - £750
Jie says she has no superstitions about number 13, but number 4 is unlucky in China.
13 - Max - £5

Banker time
Jie says that's a lot of money, and her supporters in the audience agree, but they say it's a good board with potential.

Jie says

Round 4
Noel asks Jie about her family in China, and she says she went out there for a few months last year. She says happy birthday to her dad in Chinese, as it's her birthday today.

Jie gets some advice from her mother-in-law and sister in the audience, and Noel says they're like a double-act! Candi says if Jie finds the 1p, the next offer should be really good.

Noel talks about the various ambitions Jie has, including helping her family out.

Noel says this could still be alright.

The banker points out the presence of the 1p

Jie's family in the audience says it's a phenomenal amount to be offered, and the penny is still on the board. Boo says she has really positive feelings about Jie and her box, and Roman says she has to remove the 1p if she goes on.

Noel talks about timing.

Banker time with 1p and £10,000 remaining...

Noel says the 1p can be dangerous and drag the offers down.

Jie has £10,000 in her box 16.

Box 4 with Glenda contains the 1p

Jie says the money will mean a lot to her and her husband.
