We also see a photo of Ron at his son's graduation, and he says he's proud of his son as he has a mining background. Ron's wife of 30 years is in the audience and she tells the story of how they met in a nightclub, and she uses the chance to say she's younger than Noel.

Round 4

14 - Vicki - £750
Noel says lots of people will identify with Ron, as he's achieved a lot in life and is now looking for a happy retirement.
17 - Leanne - £3,000
8 - Amy - £5,000

Banker time
The banker thinks Ron has modest ambitions and this will be an opportunity to retire comfortably, and he doesn't think he'll have to offer a lot to get Ron to deal.

Banker's offer:
£4,000

The banker says Ron and his wife will be happy with that, and he says the banker may be right. He asks his wife who says it's up to him if he wants to carry on, and Patricia says one of the bigger values could do everything Ron wants. Stu says Ron has paid a lot of respect to lesser sums of money, but it's probably a bit cheap for the board.

The banker phones back and says this board is marginally in Ron's favour and he'd modify his opinion of Ron if he no dealt.

Ron says
NO DEAL

Round 5
16 - Ade - £1,000
19 - Dom - £35,000
Noel says that's not disastrous at the moment.
6 - Dolly - £50

Banker time
Noel says we know the banker will have modified his opinion of Ron. The banker says he's been proved wrong by Ron, and if Ron had dealt, he'd have said the offer would've been about £4,500. But as Ron no dealt, he's playing it differently.

Banker's offer:
£8,000

Ron says the banker is a very very clever man. Noel says winning £100,000 is still achievable, and Adam says he'd go for it but £8,000 would be icing on top of his life for Ron. Noel asks which contestants would deal and about 6 would. Noel asks Ron if he's waiting to know it's right to deal, and he says he is, so Noel asks why he doesn't deal then! Stu says the board is worth more than £8,000.

The banker rings back and says anyone who says that's not a good offer can't read the board! He warns what would happen if the £100k goes, and he says Ron has to be a gambler to go on.

Ron says
DEAL

Round 6 - proveout
20 - Kitty - £100,000
21 - Peter - 50p
22 - Shaun - £20,000

Banker time with 10p and £500 remaining...

Banker's offer would've been:
£80

Ron has £500 in his box 2

Box 13 with Adam contains the 10p

Noel says this is officially a banker spanking and was the most unlikely spanking in the history of the show.
