Deal or No Deal although initially appearing very simple in format of just opening a few boxes for the chance to win some big money prizes, actually has some potentially complex decisions to be made at points throughout the show, the contestants occasionally try complex or simple gameplay in an attempt to give them an edge in beating the Banker.

Betty's Deal or No Deal Game Report 29/12/10 - Scrooge or Santa Christmas Specials

Noel says we are still in the Christmas frame of mind in the Winter wonderland, but something is niggling him a little about the Christmas tree as the Banker won't reveal what the holiday was on Christmas day and he is really angry about that!

Noel explains the Scrooge or Santa twist that takes place at the 5-box stage. There are 3 snowmen and 2 of them have a Santa and 1 has a Scrooge, find the Santa and the contestant gets an offer after every box in the final round, but find the Scrooge and the Banker gets to look inside the contestant's box and the final round continues in the usual 3 box style. There is also a Christmas tree where the contestant gets to the chance to win a holiday.

Betty has box 21 today. Noel says he is a little frightened of Betty, and she says quite a few people are Betty has her husband in the audience for support, and he is described as a long suffering husband, and Betty says that she thinks all men liked to be bossed around a little. We get to see Betty's family picture, and she also has a bank book with a shilling in from when she was little girl. She also has a penny that is 100 years old, and she is going to give it to whoever has the 1p today for luck

Noel says there is no point in mincing words, and this is rubbish at the moment, but on deal things can turn around very quickly.

Noel says this is a big decision now, and Betty says she would hate to lose this as she wants to help so many people and also give some to cancer research. Betty is ready for the question, but the Banker calls and says that if Betty finds the blue the next offer is £37,000! Maz says that she should ignore that as she hasn't got it yet, the Banker calls back and says forget that it will be £41,000..
