Deal or No Deal although initially appearing very simple in format of just opening a few boxes for the chance to win some big money prizes, actually has some potentially complex decisions to be made at points throughout the show, the contestants occasionally try complex or simple gameplay in an attempt to give them an edge in beating the Banker.

Rodney's Deal or No Deal Game Report

We get the warmest welcome from Noel, and are putting the past few games behind us. The long absence of the £250,000 from the pound table is noted by Noel...

It’s Rodney’s turn to take the walk of wealth today, and he has box 17. He gets a great welcome from the pilgrims. Rodney is the MD of a classic car company, and his wife was due to arrive this evening so has just missed his show! We get to see some pics of Rodney's dogs, which have helped him get over a heart operation by taking him on long walks. Rodney wants lots of noise from the pilgrims today, and he has no system - it will just be Trotter intuition...

Noel says he gets tense now after the bad run of last boxes in the rounds!

Rodney calls the banker Bertie!! The banker says he has a bad feeling about this game... He refers to Rodney as "He who dares"... He makes an opening offer of £15,000… Rodney says that’s the most that has been offered for quite a while.... Rodney says NO DEAL

Round 2
1 - £50
9 - £1
6 - £100 Big cheers

That was a good moment says Noel, and it makes a change not to ruin the round on the last box... The banker thinks this is one of the most powerful combinations he has ever faced!!! He offers £25,000… Rodney says NO DEAL

Round 3
14 - £1,000 Big cheers
3 - £250 Even bigger cheers
Rodney says this is unbelievable and Noel agrees
5 - £100,000 ARGGGHHHH goes Noel

Rodney remains positive and says it's still a good board. The banker says that was a chink of light in the darkness... He is worried that Rodney could still go all the way, and offers £25,000…Rodney says it's a respectful offer, but the game has still got a bit of mileage... Noel asks the question, but before he can finish the banker calls back... He raises the offer to £27,500.... Noel asks if Rodney would like him to take the phone off the hook! He would, and just as Noel reaches for the phone it rings again!!! The banker says you need to be quicker than that!!!! He has raised the offer again!!! It's now £30,000.... Rodney says NO DEAL

Round 4
4 - 50p Big cheers
Noel and Rodney can't believe the way the game is going...
2 - £75,000 Groans for that one...
8 - £500 Big cheers

It's very unusual to get to the 8 box stage in this position says Noel... The banker says the odds on box 17 having the £250,000 are the same as it having the 1p, and while that is there he is still confident... He offers £35,000… Noel says that the banker really wants Rodney out of the crazy chair now... Rodney says NO DEAL

WOW says Noel... That was brave...

Round 5
19 - £20,000 That's OK says Rodney
Noel tells everyone to stay positive
21 - £50,000 Groans for that
No worry says Rodney
11 - £15,000

WOW says Noel again... It was a damaging round, but you could still be our first male £250,000 winner. The banker says that Rodney wouldn't have made it this far in life as a car dealer if he didn't know when to make the right deal at the right time.... He offers £35,000… Rodney says that’s more than anyone has had since he's been on the show, but NO DEAL

Round 6
16 - 1p BIG CHEERS and the studio goes wild
18 - £35,000 Groans as the safety net goes...
7 - £5 The studio goes wild

It’s time for The Banker time with £750 and £250,000 remaining… There are shouts of "you've got it Rodney"

Noel says this the time now to calm down and revel in the fact that the banker is having a terrible day... The phone rings and Noel pounces on it!!! He asks if the banker is playing the bongos or is it his heart he can hear!!! The Banker offers £85,000… Eric tells Rodney to picture himself in a casino and would he put £85,000 on to win £250,000.... Rodney says he only has to open a box... Rodney says DEAL

Noel says you WILL ALWAYS get a swap if the £250,000 in play, and asks would you swap... Rodney says he wouldn't swap…

Noel opens Rodney’s box 17 and reveals £750

Box 22 contains the £250,000
